5 Things To Do on Gili Air - Digital Nomad Edition
How to fill your time on the paradise island?
Chill with a capital C đŚĽ
Gili Air is not like Bali. The island is seriously chill. So laid back youâre basically lying down.
When the tourist high season ends end of August, the islanders and other hang-abouters crawl out of their hideyholes, and the island shows a completely different face. Slow living, barefoot walking, beach barbequing, coconut sipping and under-the-coconut-tree sitting.
World class diving right by the island đ¤ż
There are two modes on Gili Air - chill or dive. No in-between. What makes diving around the Gili islands stand out is the proximity and number of some of the best dive sites in Indonesia. No more long boat trips out into the horizon just to dive for 30 minutes. You can pop for a dive in the morning and get back just in time for breakfast. Easy as.
You can also support the surrounding eco-system by choosing to dive with eco diveshops and joining reef restoration efforts.
Work. đť
Tooting our own horn here, but the co-working space is pretty sweet.
Best internet on the island, comfy work stations, call booths, two hangout terraces, a Side Lounge, cool people & community events. Skill sharing workshops are kickstarting this Autumn, so you can get your work on AND polish your professional skills.
You can literally work from paradise, so why arenât you already. đ¤ˇââď¸
Eat, pray and... đŞˇđ§đźââď¸
The island has an impressive culinary offering, honestly. Once high season prices are lowered back to baseline, you can eat in a new restaurant every night if thatâs your jam. And the options are aplenty for every wallet.
Yoga & wellness options are equally plentiful and a lot of people here are on a journey of self-development in one way or another. Think Ubud but less insane.
The two indoor gyms plus Radiant outdoor gym are all big and well-equipped to keep you ripped and showing off those muscles.
Love! â¤ď¸
